Welcome to Creative Embellishments Handmade first blog post.

I figured I would start with a little backstory of how we came to this point. A few years ago I wanted to do something a little different themed for my Christmas tree. Steampunk is my favorite and different so wanted to put a spin on it. My hubby designed a few steampunk ornaments for the Creative Embellishments store. Along with a bunch of other designs I came up with to cut out of chipboard to go with that theme. I altered a bunch of our products and made them into ornaments for my tree. I shared on FB and got a huge response to them. Not all my friends on FB are into the arts or scrapbooking and so many asked me if I was selling them. At that point I was so busy with Creative Embellishments and focusing on designing and manufacturing aspect of the business. 
My daughter Kayla has been helping with poking and packaging and shown a lot of interest in the arts as well. We are still very busy so will decided to let this be Kayla's baby. I of course will be there for her when she needs any help. It sure does tickle us that she has shown an interest in what we are trying to create and our growth.

Now onto our debut products. We have started with one our best selling products and altered the steampunk ornaments. We have quite a few metallic colors and are always open to suggestions.

We had so much fun altering these and we hope you like them. I am not sure that these pictures do them justice and we are working on taking better photos as well. We started with an acrylic black base  coat on the chipboard pieces. We then added the metallic colors not to cover the full piece but here and there. For added sparkle we sprayed them with a little glitter blast in the matching colors and finished with a glossy clear coat for added protection.
